Music licence
Effective date: · v1.1
Use Melodrop music in your projects under a non-exclusive licence. Read the permitted uses and the rules that apply after a subscription ends.
01What is licensed
For tracks you are authorised to download under a paid subscription or an individual Melodrop permission, Melodrop grants a non-exclusive, worldwide licence for the uses below, within the rights it holds. Listening to a preview alone grants no commercial rights. Copyright ownership is not transferred.
02Your projects
You may edit and synchronise music with monetised videos, social posts, podcasts, advertising, films, presentations, games and apps. Client projects are included. A client may distribute the finished project; separate reuse of the source track requires their own permission.
03Restrictions
Do not sell or share source tracks separately, redistribute them as stock music, sample packs or a music-streaming catalogue, claim exclusive ownership, or register the tracks in Content ID or similar rights-enforcement systems. Do not share account credentials or give source files to unlicensed users.
04After your subscription
Projects first lawfully published during the paid licence period may remain published after the subscription ends. New projects require an active licence even if the music was downloaded earlier. Cancelling renewal alone does not revoke existing project rights. Separate permissions already granted retain their own terms.
05Previews and trial
Previews and any expressly offered trial are for evaluation and unpublished mock-ups. Commercial publication requires a paid licence or separate written permission. A trial is not currently available.
06Certificates and third-party rights
The catalogue includes music created with AI. An original certificate supplied with a track documents its origin and named creator; it is not a personalised buyer licence. Melodrop does not promise exclusivity, copyright registration or freedom from automated claims. Permissions or collective-management fees required for other material or uses remain your responsibility. For a rights claim, contact support with the track, project link and your permission details.
